The materials for natural gas pipes include the following types:
1. Household natural gas pipes. Made of PVC and synthetic materials, they are soft and elastic, safe and reliable, have good pressure resistance, good weather resistance, and excellent sealing. The raw materials used are odorless, highly flexible, strong and durable. They have a wide temperature range, do not deform, and have strong corrosion resistance.
2. Aluminum-plastic composite pipes for gas use. The material of dedicated aluminum-plastic gas pipes is aluminum-plastic composite, with welded aluminum pipe as the middle layer and polyethylene plastic as the inner and outer layers. The aluminum layer is bonded with hot-melt adhesive inside and outside, and then processed into an integrated natural gas pipe through specialized mechanical methods.
3. 40Cr seamless steel pipe. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, 40Cr seamless steel pipe is lighter in weight while having the same bending and torsional strength. It is an economical sectional steel material used for transporting fluids, such as oil, natural gas, coal gas, water, and some solid materials.
4. Special spiral pipes for natural gas. National standard spiral steel pipes, abbreviated as 9711.1 and 9711.2 spiral pipes, are classified by material: 16Mn spiral steel pipe, Q345B spiral steel pipe, L245 spiral steel pipe, L360 spiral steel pipe, and X40-X80 spiral steel pipe. They are mainly used in the petroleum and natural gas industries for transporting combustible and non-combustible fluids and for steel structures.
5. Metal hoses for gas use. These are currently upgraded products that replace steel pipes, galvanized pipes, and other metal pipes. This new type of pipe has advantages such as firm connections, corrosion resistance, long service life, convenient installation, easy construction, safe use, good flexibility, and good sealing. Gas metal hoses can move with the earth’s crust, making them suitable for connecting pipelines that deliver natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and other gas sources to appliances, thus providing higher safety.
